In this project, I have been looking into the protection of British butterflies and the conservation of there habitat. Researching the British Red List of butterflies and looking into the work that the “Back From The Brink” project have done I thought I would base my work on their’s promoting the protection of these animals. The work I have created is Origami designs of the species of butterfly that are endangered or critically endangered in Britain with a “How to Make” sheet as well making awareness of there project and make more people aware of the problems they’re trying to solve.
The eyes and the homeless man being so unseen and hidden has great meaning with the subtle darkness of the design being the very real truth. The man symbolizes having nowhere to go as there habitat is constantly destroyed and the eyes are to show that we need to look out for these creatures and make sure we don’t lose these animals in Britain.
Another experimental piece with blue and purple Chameleon Pens. Like my previous post this is very different to my usual style but I really like the style and how it has turned out making it look a bit like my previous fox drawing. The Tiger’s spirit animal has a lot of will power and courage but also has a dark side of anger and aggression. Does this match your personality?
Creating this piece, I think this style is not like my work in the slightest. I was looking into using colour in my work but I think it has gone more into a realism pencil drawing. The turtle spirit animal is slow but has a lot of wisdom and is straight and understanding.
Looking into adding more colour to my work this drawing, experimenting with Tone using Chameleon Pens, has turned out really well and is a stepping stone as my very first coloured drawings. Not only using the dense pattern showing the tone but the tone with the Chameleon Pens really work well together as well.
Experimenting with my designs looking into using the laser cutting machine i thought the cross section of the tree trunk would work really well and even though it cracked because of the heat the design works perfect on the work pattern.
Experimenting with ways of printing my work and designs have made them look much more man made taking away any digital look to them with a raw image of the design. it also adds texture to the image as well.
